England produced an inspired bowling performance to restrict South Africa to a modest total of 211 all-out from 46.4 overs in their third One-Day International match at the Kennington Oval on Friday.

James Anderson claimed four wickets for 44 off his 9.4 overs and Jade Dernbach took three for 44 off his nine overs to give their side an edge over the dominant South Africans.

Electing to bat first, South Africa middle-order collapsed from 120 from three in the 26th over to 211 all-out against a disciplined English bowling attack.

Jade Dernbach, brought in the place of Tim Bresnan, bagged wickets and James Tredwell, who replaced Graeme Swann in the English side, claimed the key wickets of AB de Villiers and JP Duminy.

Hashim Amla top-scored with 43 runs as South Africa batsman struggled to get going at the Kennington Oval. His innings of 43 off 51 balls included five boundaries.

Dean Elgar scored a gritty 42 off 61 balls, which included two hits to the fence.

Brief Scores: South Africa 211 all-out from 46.4 overs (Hashim Amla 43, Dean Elgar 42, JP Duminy 33; James Anderson 4 for 44, Jade Dernbach 3 for 44, James Tredwell 2 for 49) vs England
