James Taylor was forced to retire from cricket due to a heart condition. This news was first broken by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Twitter. “Taylor’scareer sadly brought to an end by a serious heart condition We’re all with you Titch,” ECB wrote on Twitter. Taylor most recently played for England in an One-Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and prior to that made his Test comeback against South Africa, a series which England won 2-1. Many took to Twitter to express their grief over this news. Overall, Taylor has played seven Test and 27 ODIs for England. Taylor has never played a T20 International (T20I) for England and did not feature in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2016, where England finished runners-up to West Indies. Taylor recently became the 29th player in First-Class cricket to be dismissed in the 290s when he was dismissed for 291, playing for Nottinghamshire against Sussex. READ: What is arrhythmia?
At 26, he was just at the beginning of his international career. England had a disastrous outing in the ICC World Cup 2015. Taylor however managed to score an unbeaten 98 in their opening match against Australia, but England went down in that match and crashed out in the group stage itself. He is an integral part of the England ODI side, but he was making giant strides in the Test arena as well, which he played recently.
