Johannesburg: James Taylor has heaped praise on his fellow batsmen for displaying an ‘exceptional’ ability while countering Pakistan spinners in the ongoing four-match ODI series against the hosts in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Ahead of the third ODI in Sharjah on Tuesday, Taylor said that a lot of credit should go to their batsmen especially the way they’ve played against leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who claimed 15 wickets in the preceding 2-0 Tests series win. The 25-year-old also said that England batsmen had showed glimpses of their exceptional talent during the second ODI, which they won by 95 runs to level the series 1-1, Sport24 reported. Pakistan’s spinners have failed to replicate their Test performances in the ODIs as they managed just four wickets in the two games. Scorecard: Pakistan vs England 2015, 2nd ODI at Abu Dhabi
England gave Pakistan a slightly unexpected thrashing in the second One-Day International (ODI) at Abu Dhabi. That match brought the series level at 1-1 since Pakistan had come out on top in the first game at the same venue. The teams will take the battle to Sharjah for the third ODI of the four-match series. The team that wins the next ODI will secure a draw in the series at the bare minimum and will also have the chance to take a series win. These circumstances add greater context to the third game.

Going on basis of results in the first two games, it is difficult to pick a favourite for the third match. But it is safe to say that England has figured a way to succeed on these pitches against a solid batting line up. Pakistan will have to get their act together in order to make the third match an exciting contest.
