Hyderabad: Hyderabad were 122 for 2 in their second innings on day three, trailing Jammu and Kashmir by 58 runs after following on in the Ranji Trophy Group C match. Hyderabad, resuming their first innings at 113 for two, were bowled out for 280 courtesy a spirited bowling effort J&K’s Rohit Sharma and Zahoor Sofi, who picked up four wickets each. The hosts were grinding it out in the second innings with Hanuma Vihari (46*) and Dereck Prince (56)* at the crease. J*K had posted 460 while batting first, largely due to the efforts of Mithun Manhas (150), Parvez Rasool (75) and Ian Dev Singh (83).

Jammu and Kashmir were bolstered by the presence of reputed former Delhi batsman Mithun Manhas, who is an extremely experienced and reliable batsman in First-Class cricket. Manhas, who transferred out of Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir, has impressive numbers at the First-Class level. The right-hand batsman and occasional wicketkeeper has amassed over 9,000 runs in First-Class cricket at an average of over 45 with 26 centuries and 47 fifties. He had failed in his first couple of outings for Jammu and Kashmir, but returned to form with 96 against Tripura in the last match before scoring an excellent 150 this time around.
