The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced Jasprit Bumrah as the Player of the Month for December. The India pace spearhead beat both Australia skipper Pat Cummins and South Africa pacer Dane Paterson to clinch the award.
Bumrah took a total of 32 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar series and was even awarded with the Player of the Series award despite India losing 3-1. The pacer took 22 wickets in December only and that too, at a fantastic average of 14.22.

Bumrah picked up 4 wickets in the second Test in Adelaide. He then followed that up by picking up 9 wickets each in both the Brisbane and Melbourne Test.
The seamer could not bowl in the crucial fifth and final Test in Sydney after he suffered from back spasm on Day 2 which led to him leaving the ground to undergo scans.
There are also chances that Bumrah will miss India’s group stage matches in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy which is set to commence from February 19.
