Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler, is set to return to T20I action it the Asia Cup 2025. The 31-year-old has not played for India in T20Is since the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa. Despite concerns over his workload during the five-match Test series against England, the selection committee has included him in the squad.

Bumrah had to miss two Tests in England to manage his fitness, but now he will spearhead India’s pace attack alongside Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.

Veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane believes Bumrah can make a significant impact in the Asia Cup. Even if he doesn’t take many wickets, his ability to bowl economical overs will be crucial for India.

Bumrah has an impressive record in the shortest format, having taken 89 wickets in 70 matches to date. He has maintained a respectable economy rate of 6.27 and has consistently posed challenges for opposing batters. As the 31-year-old prepares to represent India in the upcoming Asia Cup, he aims to make a remarkable return to Twenty20 Internationals.
