New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder has decided not to take a new contract with New Zealand Cricket (NZC). He made this decision to concentrate on personal health and fitness goals.
David White, NZC’s chief executive said, “Jesse wants to concentrate on his personal goals without the media pressures, commercial pressures and other demands associated with being a contracted player.”
He added that Ryder made the decision after consulting with his management and the New Zealand Cricket Players’ Association.
White also said, “All of the evidence shows that Jesse is on the right track, both on and off the field, but we’re aware that there are still steps to be made.”
