Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) president Farooq Abdullah on Friday inspected the ongoing construction works at Sher-i-Kashmir stadium.

 

Abdullah visited the JKCA headquarters at Sonawar and inspected the ongoing construction works for five indoor practice turfs and the infrastructure for the upcoming cricket academy, Association officials said.

 

The union minister was briefed by convener of the infrastructure development works Ahsan Ahmad Mirza, chairman Mohammad Aslam Goni and general secretary Saleem Khan.

 

Abdullah directed the officials to speed up the work of the under-construction buildings and turfs so that these are completed within the stipulated time-frame.

 

“He stressed upon the need to complete the cricket academy during the current season so that it becomes operational by the next season,” they said.
