Joginder Sharma, who suffered head injuries in a road accident on Thursday, is recovering in a private hospital in New Delhi.
Sharma, who was member of the victorious Twenty20 World Cup squad in 2007, was on Thursday seriously injured when his car rammed into a BPO vehicle in Dwarka in south-west Delhi.
Sharma’s brother, Ashwini Sharma was quoted in rediff.com as saying,” He was operated upon by Dr Sonal Gupta. He is recovering and stable. If all goes well, he will be shifted to the general room by the afternoon.
“He is conscious and in a position to communicate. He is still in the intensive care unit, where he was moved after the operation,” his brother added.
