It’s a plane, it’s a bird. No, it is Jordan Silk flying!
At one point of time, we couldn’t think of anyone else apart from Jonty Rhodes to pull off stunners like these but thanks to modern cricket, these incredible displays are more often.
Back to the cliché, ‘catches win matches.’ During a Big Bash League match between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers in 2013-14, chasing 141 to win, the Heats looked set for a comfortable chase
Sydney Sixers needed a moment of brilliance on the field to come back in the game. It was the 15th over of the innings when the captain James Hopes, turned towards the experienced Brett Lee to try and get Sixers back in the match.
Lee made an immediate impact and got Chris Lynn off the first delivery of the over. Three balls later, the crowd and the fans got to see the magic moment, a classic catch by Sixers’ fielder Jordan Silk. Lee bowled a fuller length delivery and Craig Kieswetter hit the ball towards the mid-on area. It hit the toe end of the bat and flew straight in what seemed to be a vacant area. But it wasn’t vacant after all, Silk had it all covered. He flew like a superman, diving to his left; he took a sensational catch on the jump.

Sixers stole the match by four runs at The Gabba and Lee was awarded the man-of-the-match.
