Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara have lost their wickets in successive deliveries as Scotland are attempting to make a comeback after a mammoth partnership by Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan earlier. While Jayawardene got out cheaply, Kumar Sangakkara posted 124 runs off 95 balls. With that hundred he has re-written record books including most number of hundreds in succession with four and by virtue of those four hundreds is also the holder of most number of hundreds in a single World Cup tournament.

Earlier Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first on a juicy track at Hobart. Sri Lanka won’t carry much pressure on their shoulders going into the match as they have already qualified from Pool A alongside New Zealand, Australia and Bangladesh. Scotland are yet to win a single match in the tournament and would hope to get the better of Sri Lanka.
