Registrar, Firms and Societies, has cancelled Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association‘s life membership of Union Minister of State Jyotiraditya Scindia and 20 others.
The decision comes ahead of MPCA elections, scheduled for August 26. Scindia, at present, is the president of MPCA.
MPCA chairman Dr M K Bhargav as well as Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Kantilal Bhuria today alleged that it was done at the behest of Industries Minister, Kailash Vijaywargiya.
Bhargav said the intention was to take away the voting rights of Scindia and others.
Vijaywargiya, a BJP leader, was Scindia’s opponent in the MPCA election in 2010.
Registrar (Firms and Societies), Indore, cancelled the membership of Scindia and others upon the complaint of Dr Leeladhar Paliwal on July 27, MPCA sources said.
However, Bhargav claimed that the decision would not come in way of Scindia’s contesting the coming election, as he can contest as member of Scindia School, which is affiliated to MPCA.
Former India player Narendra Hirwani, Amay Khurasiya, Kadir Ahmed, Javed Ansari, Sunil Lohare, Kirti Patel, and Harvinder Sodhi were among those whose memberships were terminated, Dr Bhargawa said.
The action was taken without even a notice to them, he alleged.(PTI)
