Railways pacer Himanshu Sangwan spoke about a memorable interaction that he had with Indian star batter Virat Kohli when the Ranji Trophy clash against Delhi finished. Himanshu revealed that Kohli praised him when the pacer approached the star batter to get a ball signed. It turned out the ball that Sangwan got signed was the very ball that took the wicket of Virat.
Virat Kohli had made a return to Ranji Trophy after more than a decade, as the last time he played the domestic tournament was in 2012 against Uttar Pradesh. However, his time on the pitch got cut short by Himanshu, as he got dismissed on a score of just 6 runs.
Kohli being present at the place attracted a lot of crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, who were eager to witness the Indian star in action. However, the atmosphere got silent real quick as Sangwan bowled a delivery that sent Kohli’s stumps flying.
Himanshu then opened up on a conversation that he had with Kohli, revealing that the former captain complimented his bowling and wished for him to have a successful future.
“When I gave him (Kohli) the ball to sign it, he asked ‘is this the same ball from which you got me out? Kya gend tha yaar maza aa gaya (what a beautiful delivery it was). Kaafi teekhe bowler ho (you are a good bowler). Keep working hard. Best wishes for your future’,” Sangwan said.
