Cricket Australia (CA) officials are reportedly unhappy with the facilities at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, which is slated to host a Test match during Australia’s tour of India early next year.

According to the Australian Associated Press, a recent inspection by CA found the facilities at the venue below par, whereas the hotel amenities have also failed to meet the CA and Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) standards.

“Neither the ACA or Cricket Australia is keen on playing in Kanpur. We’ve made that known to the BCCI (Indian board) but we haven’t received a definitive response yet,” said ACA chief Paul Marsh.

“The change-room facilities are not up to international standard and there are various issues with the outfield and the pitch. The main thing is there are certain facilities they haven’t got that we would expect to be in place for international cricket,” he added.

A report in The Age informed that the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) could be compensated with a one-day fixture.

India will take on Australia in a four-match Test series, and the matches will be played in New Delhi, Mohali and Chennai.
