Karaikudi Kaalai (KK) are set to lock horns with Tuti Patriots (TP) in Match 11 of TNPL 2016 at the India Cement Company Ground at Tirunelveli. This can be termed as clash of the equal level as KK have not won a single game yet in TNPL while TP have tasted the success while lost another. This could be the moment KK break the momentum and achieve victory. TP’s skipper Dinesh Larthik will be missing the series as he will be playing for Duleep Trophy while KK have S Badrinath as their skipper and guidance in TNPL. For TP, the in-form Abhinav Mukund is expected to join the team for Saturday’s match and will aim to add muscle to the batting. Also, Washington Sundar has been impressive but then he needs to convert his starts to big scores. Coming to bowling and Akash Sumra, Aushik Srinivas and Aswin Crist were impressive and stuck to a tight line while Lakshmipathy Balaji led the attack. TP need their middle-order to hit form and wrest back the winning momentum.
KK, on the other hand, will desperately look for victory. Apart from Badrinath, none of their players have chipped in with the bat. Apart from M Vijaykumar, R Srinivasan and R Rajkumar no other batsman has looked impressive. It will be interesting to see as to how they perform as a collective unit.
