The Kashmiri players from the Jammu & Kashmir team boycotted the round-four Ranji Trophy match against Andhra Pradesh to protest ‘biased’ team selection by the selectors.

Twelve of the J&K players, including the captain Samiullah Beigh allege that the players from Jammu get a preferential treatment over those from Kashmir. The team, says the report, wrote a letter to the J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) to address their grievance. However, the complaint failed to elicit any response from the authorities, which propelled the players to skip the match against Andhra Pradesh.
