Former England captain Kevin Pietersen remains defiant that he will regain his place in the England Squad. This comes after England national selector James Whitaker said that there was no way Pietersen will ever play for England again. Pietersen tweeted, “Despite the rather disrespectful comments by Paul Downton and James Whitaker yesterday, I remain determined to regain my England place!”

Pietersen last played for England in the final Ashes Test early in January 2014. Following a tiff with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and his teammates, Pietersen has not been picked for any matches for England thereafter. However, Pietersen has always remained determined that he will make a comeback sooner rather than later.
