Kieron Pollard roots for France at the FIFA World Cup 2014

The cricketer said that he supported France even though they weren't the best side.

Kieron Pollard, the West Indian all-rounder, supports France in the FIFA World Cup 2014. With the World Cup kicking off in Brazil, the world has been swept by the football mania. Cricketers are no different and are backing their favourite teams to win the cup.

 

Speaking to CricketCountry, in an exclusive chat, Pollard said, “I support France. I know there are a lot of bigger teams, but I support France.” France begin their FIFA World Cup 2014 campaign with an encounter against Honduras at Porto Alegre on June 15, 2014. France are placed in Group E along with Honduras, Switzerland and Ecuador.

Pollard hails from Trinidad and Tobago, a country that also loves its football. Trinidad and Tobago last played the FIFA World Cup in 2006, where they were pitted with England, Paraguay and Sweden. France have been world champions in 1998 and then finalists in 2006, where they lost to Italy.
