Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) were skittled out for only 88 in 15.1 overs by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at their adopted home in Holkar Stadium, Indore, in Match 48 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. It was the second-lowest total of the tournament, a run more than Mumbai Indians’ (MI) 87 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. However, MI had batted 18.5 overs that day, 22 balls more than KXIP. Here are the records set during the innings:
1 lower total than KXIP’s 88 this season (as mentioned above), by MI, who were bowled out for 87 in 18.5 overs against SRH.
73 KXIP’s lowest total, in 15.5 overs, against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) at Pune in 2017. This is their joint 2nd-lowest total. They were bowled out for 88 against RCB once more before this, at Bengaluru in 2015.
2 lower totals against RCB in IPL history than KXIP’s two instances of 88, as mentioned above. RCB had bowled out Rajasthan Royals (RR) for 58 at Cape Town in 2009 and Deccan Chargers (DC) for 82 at Mumbai in 2010.
97 previous lowest IPL total at Holkar Stadium, Indore, by RR against Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK), back in 2011.
26 wickets for Umesh Yadav against KXIP, the joint-most by anyone against them. Sunil Narine also has 26. However, while Umesh has done it across three franchises — Delhi Daredevils (DD), KKR, and RCB, all 26 of Narine’s wickets have come for KKR.
