New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former cricketer Kirti Azad on Monday urged the Supreme Court to initiate strong action against former BCCI chief N Srinivasan for attending the working committee meeting of the cricket board.
“For a common man, the Supreme Court’s verdict is binding but N Srinivasan thinks himself to be above the law,” said Azad. “Whosoever present in the meeting were well aware that Srinivasan cannot chair the meeting, the Supreme Court should take this very seriously and investigate all the people who were present in the meeting,” he added.
In January, the Supreme Court had barred Srinivasan from contesting the BCCI elections due to the conflict-of-interest with regard to the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The apex court, however, cleared the former BCCI chief for his alleged cover-ups in the spot-fixing case.
