KL Rahul played an impressive knock of 93 not out which lead Delhi Capitals to a six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday. Chasing a modest target of 164, Delhi Capitals faced early setbacks but Rahul’s calm and composed innings guided them to a comfortable win.
Delhi Capitals initially stumbled in their chase, finding themselves in a poor position. However, Rahul’s brilliant 93* off 53 deliveries, including six sixes and seven fours, lead his team to the target . His ability to rotate the strike, combined with his powerful hitting, ensured that DC maintained a steady chase despite the early fall of wickets.
Tristan Stubbs also played a crucial role in the win, contributing a unbeaten 38* off 23 balls. His calm and aggressive batting at the other end helped Rahul finish the job easily, ensuring that DC crossed the line with ease in the 18th over.
On the bowling side, veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar put in a solid performance for RCB, taking 2 wickets for 26 runs in his four-over spell. His tight bowling, along with the efforts of other bowlers, kept RCB in the game, but the lack of sufficient runs on the board proved costly.
Earlier in the match, RCB posted a total of 163/7 in their 20 overs. Tim David played a key role in lifting RCB’s score with an unbeaten knock of 37 runs off 20 deliveries, including some big shots. Phil Salt also made his mark with a brilliant 37 off 17 balls, which included some explosive shots. Despite their efforts, RCB was not able to reach a fighting total against Delhi Capitals.
In the end, it was KL Rahul’s brilliance and the support from Stubbs that lead Delhi Capitals to a comfortable six-wicket win.
