KL Rahul, who has been selected in the Indian squad for their tour to Australia, has an interesting story behind his name. The story goes that KL Rahul’s father Lokesh was a big fan of Sunil Gavaskar, and wanted to name his son, after Gavaskar’s son Rohan Gavaskar. However, Lokesh mistook Rohan for Rahul and that is how his name was changed.

KL Rahul has come good with the bat several times in the Indian domestic circuit, and thus has been rewarded with a place in the Indian squad. Rahul scored centuries in both innings of the Duleep Trophy final for his team South Zone. However, his effort was in a losing cause as Central Zone pulled off a superb heist on the final day of the Test match.
