Rohit Sharma and Aaron Finch walked out to open the innings for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Wednesday. Finch was dismissed in the second over the innings, top-edging a pull shot off Morne Morkel to Umesh Yadav at backward square leg. Umesh Yadav and Morkel opened the bowling for KKR, while Shakib Al Hasan came on to bowl the fifth over of the innings. Rohit looked secure while Aditya Tare was quite aggressive as well. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl first in a battle between the winners of IPL 2014 and IPL 2013. Finch, Kieron Pollard, Corey Anderson, and Lasith Malinga were the four overseas players for MI, while Sunil Narine, Shakib, Andre Russell, and Morkel were the four foreign players for KKR.
