Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit sharma, the opening batsman, scored his 3,000 runs in the IPL, against defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier league (IPL), Match 1 at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl first as Mumbai finished on168 for the loss of three wickets, in a battle between the winners of IPL 2014 and IPL 2013.
