RISHABH Pant’s absence from the Indian cricket team due to injury paved the way for KS Bharat to play a few games for India in Test cricket. The batter failed to make an impact with the bat but earned praise for his wicketkeeping skills. He even went on to play in the WTC final for India but could not make the opportunity count. Bharat played five Test matches for India before being dropped from the playing 11 for Ishan Kishan on the West Indies tour.

The wicketkeeper batter, who is the brand ambassador of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, recently earned praise as he distributed mid-day meals to the students of Rajiv Gandhi Municipal High School in Kakinada district. Bharat also played gully cricket with the students.

The foundation began its functioning in Kakinada in 2015 and served mid-day meals to around 16,500 students of 79 government schools as part of Jagananna Gorumuddha.
