KSCA XI emerged champions in the Shafi Darashah All-India invitational cricket tournament when they took a decisive first innings lead against Mumbai Cricket Association as the four-day final ended in a draw at Alur, Karnataka Tuesday.
Replying to KSCA XI’s first innings total of 564 all out, Mumbai CA were dismissed for 392 despite a 74-run partnership for the eighth wicket between Hiken Shah (107, 171b, 15×4) and Iqbal Abdullah (59 not out, 68b, 10×4).
For KSCA XI, seamer Abhimanyu Mithun and leg-spinner Amit Verma came away with three wickets apiece while off-spinner K. Goutham, who was later adjudged best bowler of the tournament for his haul of 21 wickets, chipped in with two for 85.
Following on, Mumbai CA were 132 for one with Kaustubh Pawar (96, 123b, 15×4, 1×6) being the top scorer.
Amit Verma (470 runs) was declared best batsman of the tournament in which Baroda CA, Bangladesh ‘A’, Hyderabad CA and Rajasthan CA had participated besides three local teams. (IANS)
