The Association of Bihar Cricket and Cricket Association of Bihar on Wednesday charged the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led Bihar Cricket Association of committing financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 50 lakh, which the BCCI had granted for development of the game in the state in 2008.

"The BCA has gobbled up the money meant for developing cricket infrastructure in the state as it has maintained no record as to how the money was spent," ABC executive president Premranjan Patel and CAB president Aditya Verma told reporters at a joint press conference here.

They demanded a vigilance probe into the alleged 'embezzlement' of funds by the BCA, besides another probe to find out if the BCA was a registered body in Bihar.

Patel, who is also a BJP MLA, said he would raise the issue in the state assembly.

Another ABC office bearer Mithilesh Tiwari slammed the BCCI for 'discriminating against' Bihar by not giving representation rights to any of the state bodies.

Tiwari said that the BCCI should consider granting membership to one or more associations from Bihar as was the case in several other states.

The Bihar government had dissolved the BCA on grounds of irregularities in December 2008. (PTI)
