Sri Lanka‘s T20I skipper Lasith Malinga has been ruled out of the T20I series against New Zealand in the ongoing tour, following an injury. He of late has also been skipping the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. Meanwhile, Dinesh Chandimal has been named the stand-in skipper for the side as he will be making his debut as skipper in the T20I series against the Kiwis from January 2016. The cause of the injury is still unclear for Malinga, but is expected to be fit before the upcoming ICC World T20 in India in March, and awill ahve around a couple of momths to recover.
