Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates post of Match No. 24 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 between Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. I am Paulami Chakraborty and will bring you the live scores and updates from this game. RPS will play their first game in five days while this is SRH’s third game in six days. Both sides have won their last game but SRH are much better placed at the third position in the points table, managing four wins out of the six games played. The Pune based franchise are languishing at the bottom of the table with just two wins from five games. MS Dhoni’s form has been a matter of massive concern for RPS. The former captain has not got going and hence the middle-order has suffered. It would not be a wrong ploy if Steve Smith decides to promote the in-form Manoj Tiwary at No.4. The Pune bowling unit is led by Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur has done a decent job in the few games that he has played. Ajinkya Rahane too has not been consistent enough while he has found a steady opening partner in Rahul Tripathi. Once again, all eyes will be on their most expensive player — Ben Stokes.
Head-to-head, both sides have won a game each. SRH have the slight advantage. Their Hyderabad-based team wears a more balanced look and with Kane Williamson blazing all guns at top, the batting looks further more formidable. They already have the best bowling line-up at their disposal. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been exceptional and so has Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan. The likes of Mohammad Siraj and Siddharth Kaul too have added new dimension to this attack, and not to forget they have the wily Ashish Nehra and the brilliant Mustafizur Rahman warming the bench.
