Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the Afghanistan tour of United Arab Emirates, 2015 match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong at Abu Dhabi. I am Paulami Chakraborty and I will bring to you the live updates of the exciting match. The teams will face off in the only Twenty 20 International match of the current tour. The match will be classified as an international game since both teams have T20I status. This tournament will be a great challenge for Hong Kong as Afghanistan have already established themselves as the emerging power in the T20 format as they are coming from a commendable 3-0 win over the Zimbabwe team.
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 166/6 in Overs 19.4 | BATTING: Waqas Barkat 7(6), Aizaz Khan 12(8) : What a change in scenario. From the verge of losing it, Hong Kong came back and bagged the much wanted victory. The credit goes to their skipper Tanwir Afzal who played a quick-fire 42 off 22. Waqas Barkat finished it off in style with a beautiful boundary as his side won other the heavy-weights in the clash Afghanistan.
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 152/6 in Overs 18.1 | BATTING: Waqas Barkat 0(0), Aizaz Khan 5(5) : OUT! Tanwir Afzal c Usman Ghani b Aftab Alam 42 (22)
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 145/5 in Overs 16.4 | BATTING: Aizaz Khan 0(0), Tanvir Afzal 39(19) : OUT! Nizakat Khan c Nasim Baras b Aftab Alam 26 (20)
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 139/4 in Overs 16 | BATTING: Nizakat Khan 24(18), Tanwir Afzal 36(16): The match has taken some interesting turns. Anything can happen at this point. Hong Kong skipper Afzal hit a few sixers and that has changed the course of the game.
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 89/4 in Overs 12 | BATTING: Nizakat Khan 10(10), Tanwir Afzal 0(0): And it is almost the end of the story for the Hong Kong team. Almost 80 runs to go and there is no one much experienced left to come out. With Mark Chapman removed, Afghanistan almost ensure their victory.
OUT! Chapman c Usman Ghani b Karim Sadiq 22 (21)
OUT! Babar Hayat c Nasim Baras b Rokhan 35 (18)
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 64/2 in Overs 8 | BATTING: Mark Chapman 7(8), Babar Hayat 35(17): Two wickets down for the Hong Kong team and now they are under pressure. Anshuman Rath is one of their star players and with him contributing only 18 it will not be easy. Babar Hayat is hitting it hard and he is one person the team would hope upon now. Mark Chapman is the other important player. He will have to stay in the crease till the end.
OUT! Anshuman Rath lbw b Rokhan 18 (17)
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 40/1 in Overs 5 | BATTING: Anshuman Rath 14(13), Babar Hayat 22(11): Consecutive Sixes and fours. One wicket down but they are playing aggressive cricket and looking forward to get quick runs.
OUT! Shah st Mohammad (wk) Shahzad b Karim Sadiq 2 (6)
Live Cricket Score, Hong Kong 3/0 in Overs 1 | BATTING: Anshuman Rath 2(3), Kinchit Shah 1(3): Singles to start the first over. Good that they are looking forward for a stable partnership and a strong start. But the total is hard to achieve and they need to score runs while protecting wickets.
*Hong Kong’s innings start*
Live Cricket Score, Afghanistan 162/6 in Overs 20 | BATTING: Gulbadin Naib 4(4), Mirwais Ashraf 1(1): Afghanistan has set quite a good target for the Hong Kong team. The middle order batsmen contributed nicely in pressure situation and the score looks good. They have a good bowling attack as well and it will be an interesting contest.
OUT! Shafiqullah run out 30 (16)
OUT! Samiullah Shenwari run out 34 (27)
Live Cricket Score, Afghanistan 118/4 in Overs 16 | BATTING: Shafiqullah 1(2), Samiullah Shemwari 24(22): A miscommunication and a set Stanikzai is run out. This can be the turning point of the match as he has the potential to score big. His 51 is a good boost to the scorecard though. Last few overs and the Afghanistan batsmen need to hit fearlessly and score as much as they can.
OUT! Asghar Stanikzai run out 51 (37)
Live Cricket Score, Afghanistan 85/3 in Overs 12 | BATTING: Asghar Stanikzai 33(25), Samiullah Shemwari 10(12): Beautiful shots from the skipper to the skipper. A good over for Afghanistan as Stanikzai hits Afzal for a boundary and two sixes. Treat to the eyes.
Live Cricket Score, Afghanistan 53/3 in Overs 9 | BATTING: Asghar Stanikzai 11(16), Samiullah Shemwari 0(3): After hitting a few biggies back to back, Sadiq edges one delivery and gets out. Shenwari is now in crease along with their skipper. 50 up for Afghanistan but they need a good total. A minimum of 150 is required at least to have a good total to defend.
OUT! Karim Sadiq c Tanwir Afzal b Aizaz Khan 22 (19)
Live Cricket Score, Afghanistan 33/2 in Overs 5 | BATTING: Asghar Stanikzai 3(8), Karim Sadiq 13(6): Two back to back wickets for Hong Kong and Afghanistan are in danger. Their trusted player Usman Ghani has also been removed and it is time for the Afghan players to take their time to settle down. Karim Sadiq, the new man in, is playing fearlessly and hitting big. Skipper Stanikzai in that case needs to execute the duty of holding the innings together while building his own important innings.
OUT! Usman Ghani c Nadeem Ahmed b Haseeb Amjad 10 (12)
Live Cricket Score, Afghanistan 6/1 in Overs 1 | BATTING: Asghar Stanikzai 1(1), Usman Ghani 1(1): Big blow for Afghanistan as they have lost a wicket already in their first over. Mohammad Shahzad walks off as Hong Kong skipper Tanwir Afzal got him for lbw. Afghan skipper in the crease now and huge responsibilities on his shoulders.
OUT! Mohammad Shahzad lbw b Tanwir Afzal 4 (4)
TOSS: Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat
Afghanistan have recently completed a successful tour of Zimbabwe winning against them in both One-Day Internationals (ODI) and T20 formats. The tour started with a five-match ODI series. The series was a roller-coaster of entertainment as in saw alternative winners till Afghanistan won it in the last match. But the visitors had full domination over the T20 series as they didn’t let the hosting Zimbabwe team win a single match and bagged the series with a clear 3-0. Coming from such a successful series, the Asghar Stanikzai led Afghanistan team is sure to be pumped up for yet another victorious conclusion.
Hong Kong, on the other hand, are having a low morale currently after losing the most recent T20 series to Oman. The three match series started with a low-scoring match as Hong Kong scored only 106 runs batting first which was easily chased by Oman. The scenario didn’t change in the second game as well as Hong Kong failed to chase the 131 put up by Oman and lost the contest by 4 runs. It was only the third match that saw the team taste victory but the series had already gone in Oman’s way. It will be great for Hong Kong to get back to winning note with a win over Afghanistan while Afghanistan will look to excel in the format with their fourth consecutive win.
