Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 Group A match between Assam and Rajasthan, being played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. At the end of Day-3, Rajasthan were 47 for 3, as they trailed Assam by 189 runs with seven wickets in hand and Ashok Menaria and Pramod Yadav batting on 20(22) and 1(15) respectively. After getting bowled out for a poor total of 186 in the first innings, it is important for the visitors to bounce back in order to avoid a loss or give away a vital innings lead to Assam that will earn them another three points in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16.
Live cricket score Rajasthan 84 | Overs 28.4 | Batting: Aniket Choudhary 0(7): It’s over for Rajasthan, what a tame display by them in the second innings. The Das duo have been symmetrically phenomenal with both Arup and Krishna taking fifers to dismantle Rajasthan. Assam will be flying high after the first innings lead three points in their first game against Karnataka and now seven points on account of an innings victory. It’s a fine start to the season for them.
Live cricket score Rajasthan 84/9 | Overs 28 | Batting: Aniket Choudhary 0(7), Nathu Singh 0(1): Rajasthan’s innings has unfolded in the most unimpressive fashion. The highest scorer for them has been Ashok Menaria with just 21 runs. Now it’s just a question of when for Assam’s innings victory rather than whether. All the wickets have been taken by Das’s; Arup Das has taken four while Krishna Das has taken five.
Krishna Das’s five-wicket haul was the major cause for Rajasthan’s downfall in the first innings and he was well supported by Arun Das and Syed Mohammed for two wickets Each from their respective spells. In reply to Rajasthan’s 186, the hosts declared on a superb total of 422 from 151 overs with Arun Karthik scoring a superb 315-ball 151 and wicketkeeper-batsman Kunal Saikia was the second highest scorer with an unbeaten 50 from 107 deliveries. The other batsmen who made vital contributions were Gokul Sharma and Sarupam Purkayastha for their 46(89) and 47(105). Meanwhile, for Rajasthan, it was Ankush Bikram Singh who bagged a five-wicket haul, however his effort was not enough to stop the hosts from scoring big.
