Two wickets then for Australia in the final session of play that too to Starc towards the close of play. What a day for Essex.  A very tough day for Australians. They did score 122 runs before getting bowled out with Marsh scoring 169. Essex though have comeback superbly to post a strong total, Westley’s ton has set the platform for their inning, he though got out at the stroke of stumps and Starc returned to bowl out Porter, the nightwatchman. Skipper, Bopara gave Westley good support with a fine knock and is nearing his ton. Australia will look to comeback hard tomorrow while Essex will want to continue batting with Bopara leading them well with the bat.

Live Cricket Score: Essex 220/1 | Overs 53 – Match delayed by rain

The 100-run stand is up between the two batsmen as Tom Westley brings up his century, his 10th in First-Class cricket. This has been a fine comeback by Essex after Australia posted huge total. Nathan Lyon has had an off day, his figures read 9-0-64-0!

Live Cricket Score: Essex 34/0 | Overs 7

Tom Westley 13(18) Jaik Mickleburgh 9(26)

After the expensive first over, both the batsmen are now batting sensibly. Josh Hazlewood has bowled a good spell already and Michael Clarke has brought in Mitchell Marsh for a bowl. He is welcomed with a couple of boundaries.

Live Cricket Score: Essex 9/0 | Overs 1

Tom Westley 8(6) Jaik Mickleburgh 0(0)

The Essex openers are out to bat. Mitchell Starc starts with the new ball for Australia. He concedes a boundary of the very second ball and also of the final ball of the over. Is that signs of things to come? Let’s see.

Live Cricket Score: Australia 562 | Overs 111 – Lunch

Peter Siddle 37(47)

Nathan Lyon’s brilliant cameo comes to an end as ten Doeschate takes his second wicket to dismiss him nine short of a half-century. And that is also Lunch on Day Two! Another fantastic session for Australia. They got past 500 with Marsh narrowly missing his double ton. The tail-enders have done the job of scoring quick runs for them and the bowlers will be itching to get bowling and keeping the good momentum.

OUT! Nathan Lyon c substitute b ten Doeschate 41(30)

Live Cricket Score: Australia 529/9 | Overs 108

Nathan Lyon 17(17) Peter Siddle 32(42)

Mitchell Marsh 153(169) Peter Siddle 5(6)

Mitchell Starc is running out of partners here, Josh Hazlewood departs as well. Porter takes his third wicket. Peter Siddle comes out to bat. Will Australia declare once they get past 500? Marsh in the meanwhile has brought up his 150!

Live Cricket Score: Australia 447/6 | Overs 91

Mitchell Marsh 136(152) Mitchell Starc 7(7)

Mitchell Starc is the new man in for Australia. He gets off the mark off the very first ball he faces. It will be interesting how Mitchell Marsh plays today given he was very aggressive yesterday.
