The match is being played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. This match is nicely poised at the moment as first England bowled out Bangladesh for 220 thanks to a 5-for frpm Moeen Ali. But Bangladesh bounced back strong as they got three England wickets as the visitors are currently trembling at 50 for the loss of 3 wickets. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Bangladesh vs England, 2nd Test at Dhaka

Captain Mushfiqur Rahim urged Bangladesh to put aside their hurt over just failing to clinch a first ever Test victory over England and learn to cope in high-pressure situations when their battle resumes on Friday. Bangladesh were widely praised for their gritty performance in the first Test in Chittagong, which they eventually lost on Monday by just 22 runs in what was by far the closest Test between the two sides in nine contests. After running England so close, the eventual outcome could have had a devastating effect on the players but Rahim said the team was in good spirits after putting up such a close fight but now needed to learn how to seal the deal when match-winning opportunities open up, reported AFP.

England reached 50-3 in their first innings against Bangladesh before rain brought an early end to play on the first day of the second Test in Dhaka on Friday. England then suffered their own mini-collapse as they were reduced to 50 for three before rain brought an early end to proceedings, 11.3 overs before the scheduled close of play at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Shakib Al Hasan removed Ben Duckett for seven before young Mehedi Hasan ended Alastair Cook’s innings at 14 through lbw. Cook, who equalled Michael Atherton’s record of 54 Tests as England captain at the start of play, was initially given not out but the decision was overturned after Bangladesh reviewed.

Bangladesh were all out for 220 in their first innings of the second Test against England Friday after losing their last nine wickets for just 49 runs, with off-spinner Moeen Ali taking 5-57. Opener Tamim Iqbal made a quickfire century, scoring 104 off 147 balls, while Mominul Haque scored 66 as the hosts surged to what should have been a commanding score of 171 for one. But Tamim’s dismissal, lbw to Ali, sparked a spectacular collapse, with seven of Bangladesh’s batsmen failing to make double figures at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim had called on his team before the start of the Test to show more consistency and learn how to drive home their advantage at key points in matches. But the rapid succession of wickets in the afternoon session pointed to Bangladesh’s continued frailty in high-pressure situations, severely damaging their hopes of squaring the two-match series.

England made two changes to the team that won the first Test last Monday in Chittagong, with left-arm spinner Zafar Ansari handed a Test debut for Gareth Batty and paceman Steven Finn coming in for Stuart Broad who has been rested. Bangladesh picked all-rounder Shuvagata Hom ahead of Shafiul Islam in their only change. They are playing with just one specialist fast bowler.
