Good Afternoon! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the 2015-16 Big Bash League (BBL) match between Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday, as we bring you the live updates from this game. Sixers, who were the champions of the inaugural, are on a mission to make it double as they look to earn their opening win of the season. Hobart, on the other hand, who have been a strong side, have failed to win the tournament, although they have made it to the knock-outs previously, as thye look to turn things around this season.

*Sydney Sixers win*

Live Cricket Score, Hobart Hurricanes 91 | 15.5 overs | Batting: George Bailey 62(45): And that’s the end of the story for the Hobart Hurricanes. The Sydney Sixers have won the match by a whopping 95 runs and what a performance by the Sixers bowlers. Nathan Lyon took 5 wickets for 23 runs helping his side bundle the Hurricanes within 91.

OUT! Shaun Tait c Abbott b Lyon 5 (5)

Live Cricket Score, Hobart Hurricanes 68/8 | 12 overs | Batting: George Bailey 47(37): The game is slipping away from the Hurricanes as wickets are falling in regular intervals. Bailey is holding on to it but he is not able to get a good partner to support him from the other end. Nathan Lyon is on top with beautiful display of bowling.

OUT! Sam Rainbird c Bird b Lyon 1 (3)

OUT! Joe Mennie c Bird b Lyon 4 (9)

OUT! Darren Sammy c Maddinson b Abbott 2 (6)

OUT! Jonathan Wells c Henriques b O’Keefe 1 (2)

Live Cricket Score, Hobart Hurricanes 23/5 | 6 overs | Batting: George Bailey 2(7), Jonathan Wells 1(2): Another Wicket goes down for the Hurricanes as Christian departs making 4. They look in a mess and it seems to be Sixers’ day totally. They need to score big runs and Bailey needs support from the other end.

OUT! Daniel Christian run out 4 (6)

Live Cricket Score, Hobart Hurricanes 5/3 | 3 overs | Batting: George Bailey 2(7), Daniel Christian 1(2): Bollinger did the total destruction here. Hurricanes have lost 3 wickets within 3 overs and this is a huge blow. Kumar Sangakkara, who is in a great form, goes for a duck. Bailey is out there and he needs to take up the responsibility to score big as they need is desperately.

OUT! Ben Dunk b Bollinger 1 (4)

OUT! Kumar Sangakkara c Bollinger b Lyon 0 (1)

OUT! Tim Paine c Henriques b Lyon 0 (4)

*Hobart Hurricanes innings starts*

Live Cricket Score, Sydney Sixers 186/7 | 20 overs | Batting: Johan Botha 8(7), Jordan Silk 22(16): Sixers end their innings with good runs on board. 186 looks good but Hurricanes have potent players to chase it down as well.

OUT! Jordan Silk run out 41 (25)

OUT! Johan Botha c Wells b Mennie 13 (13)

Live Cricket Score, Sydney Sixers 146/4 | 16 overs | Batting: Johan Botha 8(7), Jordan Silk 22(16): Haddin departs after playing an awesome knock of 72 off 45. The rain of sixes has stopped and the batsmen are looking to build up a partnership and then go for big hits. 4 more overs to go and they should hit as much as possible considering the fact that they have wickets left in their hand.

OUT! Brad Haddin c Christian b Boyce 72 (45)

Live Cricket Score, Sydney Sixers 112/3 | 12 overs | Batting: Brad Haddin 70(43), Jordan Silk 1(1): Henriques does a Samit Patel and gets run out for 11. Haddin is doing the carnage here as he seems more interested in biggies. Hitting back to back sixers here he is accelerating the game and runs are pouring in for his side. Sixers are playing true to their name!

OUT! Moises Henriques run out 11(14)

Live Cricket Score, Sydney Sixers 91/2 | 10 overs | Batting: Brad Haddin 51(33), Moises Henriques 10(13): 50 for Brad Haddin in just 31 balls. Nic Maddinson departs and that is a great breakthrough for the Hurricanes. Sangakkara takes a good catch and Henriques comes out to bat. Sixers are in a good position.

OUT! Nic Maddinson c Sangakkara b Boyce 21 (11)

Live Cricket Score, Sydney Sixers 70/1 | 6 overs | Batting: Brad Haddin 40(23), Nic Maddinson 21(10): 50 comes up for the Sydney Sixers in just 5 overs and that is fast. They have revived after losing a wicket and how! The fifth over by birthday boy Darren Sammy bore 22 runs and that is huge and positive for the Sixers. Hurricanes wouldn’t mind a wicket.

Live Cricket Score, Sydney Sixers 12/1 | 3 overs | Batting: Brad Haddin 13(10), Nic Maddinson 6(5): And a wicket in the very first over! The Hurricanes bowlers are at their best as Shaun Tait picks up an early wicket of Michael Lumb. The Sydney Sixers batsmen must not lose wickets anymore and get into the destruction mode.

OUT! Michael Lumb c Mennie b Tait 4 (3)

Toss: Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bat

Sixers, who lost their opening game to their cross-town rivals, Sydney Thunders in the opening tie of the season, would look for a turnaround and win this tie against the Hurricanes in their home ground, and being a strong side, they can certainly do it. Hobart, on the other hand, who would be playing their opening game of the seaoson in an away tie to the sixers would aim for a winning start to their campaign, as thye consist of players like Tim Paine, Kumar Sangakkara, George Bailey, Darren Sammy, Shaun Tait and many more, who can well turn the game in favour of their side.

Squads:

Sydney Sixers: Michael Lumb, Brad Haddin (wk), Nic Maddinson (c), Jordan Silk, Ryan Carters, Johan Botha, Sean Abbott, Trent Lawford, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird, Doug Bollinger, Moises Henriques, Steve O’Keefe, Ed Cowan, Ben Dwarshuis, Steven Smith.
