Highveld Lions take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the n the Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2012 Group B match at Cape Town on Tuesday.
Earlier, Highveld Lions won the toss and asked Chennai Super Kings to bat first.
Save a mini mid-innings collapse, Chennai batted well in yesterday’s loss against Sydney Sixers but bowling was a bit of concern for them as they leaked too many runs at the death.
Most of the bowlers used by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni went for runs and he needs his frontline pacers — Ben Hilfenhuas and Dough Bollinger — to fire in the next game.
Lions, the local outfit, are also a good batting unit.
Veteran Neil McKenzie along with Quinton de Kock mowed down the Mumbai Indians attack without any fuss and hammered the defending champions by eight wickets last night.
The other Lion batsmen are yet to be tested in this tournament but their bowlers gave a good account of themselves, especially fast bowler Dirk Nannes.
Teams:
Chennai Super Kings: Murali Vijay, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Subramanium Badrinath, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (c&wk), Albie Morkel, Ravinda Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Doug Bollinger, Wriddhiman Saha, Ben Hilfenhaus.
Highveld Lions: Alviro Petersen (c), Gulam Bodi, Quinton de Kock, Neil McKenzie, Jean Symes, Thami Tsolekile (wk), Zander de Bruyn, Chris Morris, Sohail Tanvir, Aaron Phangiso, Dirk Nannes.
