Live Updates

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016. This is the final match between Dhaka Dynamites and Rajshahi Kings, and you will get all live updates and scores of the match. The match is scheduled to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. Dhaka Dynamites have been one of the most dominant sides of this season of the domestic tournament, remaining at the top of the table. On the other hand, the rise of Rajshahi Kings came out of the blue as they initially struggled to win matches but have now found their way to the final match.

Dhaka Dynamites have all the positives by their side. Shakib Al Hasan, their skipper, needs no introduction, more so because of his immense experience of international cricket as well as T20 leagues. He knows the playing conditions in Bangladesh like the back of his hand. Apart from his own experience and talent, he has superstars like Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo by his side. Of the local stars, Mehedi Maruf has proved himself with bat, providing brisk starts to the team’s innings on many occasions in this edition of the tournament. They also have Mosaddek Hossain to strengthen the middle-order.

Among the bowlers, Seekkuge Prasanna and Russell will have to take up a lot of responsibilities. Bravo has also been an important member of the bowling contingent and Shakib himself will bowl a few overs to bring in more variations.

The biggest challenge for Rajshahi Kings in the tournament must have been the fact that their captain does not have as much experience of playing in Bangladesh. However, Darren Sammy, the only captain to lift the World T20 title, has overcome all difficulties to guide his time to the final. He has been the driving force of Rajshahi Kings, inspiring his boys with consistent efforts. Sammy has been the backbone of his team’s batting, but it will take a team effort for the entire team to make their bit of contribution to win. Sabbir Rahman, among the most talented batsmen of the team, has remained off-colour for most of the tournament but has scored runs in the recent few matches. He will be one dangerous batsman once set. They also have Samit Patel, Mominul Haque, Nurul Hasan and Umar Akmal in the squad, all of whom are known for batting abilities.

Samit, Kesrick Williams, Nazmul Islam and Farhad Reza will have to bear the burden of bowling their quotas of 4 overs. Sammy himself has bowled as well. Young Mehedi Hasan, their biggest bet going into the tournament, has failed. He failed to maintain his form from the England series. He will have to shine in the final match to ensure his team’s victory.
