Although not an impossible task, but still a mountain to climb for them as the India Red bowlers would leave no stones unturned to get the match wrapped up with a win as soon as possible. He continues to dominate in the pink-ball arena. Twin tons from the Gujarat opener has placed India Red in the brink of a victory against India Green in the the first match of Duleep Trophy 2017, at Ekana International Stadium, Lucknow. Ironically, India Green is led by Panchal’s Ranji captain Parthiv Patel. At stumps on Day 3, India Green are 98 for 2, still requiring 376 runs to notch up a win with Karun Nair and Ravikumar Samrath at the crease.

    With all things going well, tragedy stuck soon as Patel fell for 26. It was India’s Green chief tormentor, Sharma yet again that came to Red’s rescue. Mayank Dagar came out in the middle with Nair nearing his hundred.

    Nair soon reached his 10th First-Class hundred in 117 balls inclusive of 10 fours.

    Both Parthiv Patel and Karun Nair slowly build on a 38 run stand between them. Nair is looking good to reach a well-deserved century. Patel, on the other hand is playing on the merit of the ball. It will be important to nab Nair if India Red need to gain an comfortable win. India Green are still 267 runs away from win.

    Despite the fall of Samrath, the runs for India Green have not stopped coming. Ankit Bawne has managed to keep the scoreboard ticking, while Karun Nair is holding on end. India Red are still favourites to win the game but one never knows.

    India Red have managed to get the key wicket of Samarth Ravikumar. He was looking good for a big score but fell for 59. He along with skipper Karun Nair added 89 runs for the third wicket for India Green. They need more 341 runs to win with Nair and Ankit Bawne in the middle.
