England will look to claim quick wickets early on and put South Africa under pressure on the final day of the second Test at Headingley, as draw looms over the match after rain washed away much of day four in Leeds.

 

South Africa were 39 for no loss with a lead of 33 runs in the second innings on the fourth day when the umpires decided to call it a day.

 

Graeme Smith remained unbeaten on 17, accompanied by Jacques Rudolph on 21.

 

England were bowled out for 425 with Kevin Pietersen scoring a fine 149 and Matt Prior getting a quickfire 68 off 89 balls.

 

Brief Score: South Africa 419 & 39 for no loss (Jacques Rudolph 21*, Graeme Smith 17*) lead England 425 (Kevin Pietersen 149, Matt Prior 68; Imran Tahir 3 for 92) by 33 runs.
