Good morning/afternoon! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the England vs South Africa 2017 One-Day International (ODI) series. This is the third and final ODI between the two teams and I, Vishal Mehra, will bring to you all the live scores and updates of the match. The match is scheduled to be played at the home of cricket, Lord’s. England have won the first and second ODIs and with them, the series. While they won the first match comfortably by a margin of 72 runs, the second one went down to the wire, as South Africa failed to score 7 runs in the final over of the match and going on to lose it by 2 runs. This match, thus, will only be of academic interest. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: England vs South Africa, 3rd ODI

While South Africa have already lost the series, the venue for the third game does not give them any confidence either. Lord’s has been a happy hunting ground for the home side, as they have beaten South Africa on all the three occasions these two teams have collided here. Though the fate of the series has already been sealed after the second ODI, both teams will still have plenty to play for. England would want to go for the kill. They also have a great chance to test their bench and give some rest to their star players ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. They have rested all-rounders Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes for the final ODI and called up Steven Finn, Toby Roland-Jones and Liam Dawson instead.

South Africa, on the other hand, will look to win the third ODI and salvage some pride. Furthermore, they would also want some momentum to come their way by winning the third game. It will help them get into the Champions Trophy with some confidence. They know they are a much better side than the results show and should have sealed the second ODI and kept the series alive. But nevertheless, the series loss does not mean they are not serious title contenders for the Champions Trophy 2017. Both these teams, in fact, are favourites to lift the trophy on June 18.

The series is a part of the full-fledged tour, which will continue after the conclusion of Champions Trophy, with Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and Tests to be played.
