Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog for the third day’s play of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 between Himachal Pradesh and Services at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) at Dharamsala. Day two saw Himachal Pradesh play as expected as they went on scoring runs to get their team total go past 500. Though the team did exceptionally well with the bat, they are yet to get any success in bowling after day two as the Services have not lost a single wicket and are batting steady at 105. LIVE CRICKET SCORE Services 188/3 | Himachal 531 | Overs 66 | BATTING: Rajat Paliwal 21(48), Yashpal Singh 39(53): After 65 overs, Services trail their opponents by 343 runs with seven wickets to spare and more than a day left in the match. After the dismissals of the openers, the other batsmen have not really contributed. It is crucuial for Yashpal and Rajat to stick around in order to gain a first innings lead which anyway looks unlikely. The three Himachal bowlers who took the wickets are Rishi Dhawan, Akshay Chauhan and Shresth Nirmohi. The last batsman to have been dismissed was Shashaank Sharma. he lasted for 12 balls, scoring just four runs before giving a catch to N R Gangta. OUT! Paras Dogra, who was unbeaten for 174 till day 1, completed his double century and departed for 227. Another mentionable contribution came from Nikhil Gangta’s bat as he scored 98 runs but failed to reach century. Bipul Sharma down the order also helped with his 103 ball 74 to reach Himachal Pradesh a total of 531 with the loss of all of their wickets.
Amongst the Services bowlers, Diwesh Pathania was the highest wicket taker as he took 3 wickets. Bt one of the most effective bowlers has been Anshul Gupta as he traded only 16 runs to pick up two wickets. Vikas Hathwala removed two most destructive batsmen Bipul Sharma and Paras Dogra to help massively.
Services started their innings in a positive note as after 39 overs of play they have not lost any wicket. Opener Soumik Chatterjee scored his individual 50 while Anshul Gupta is batting at 46 and the both will be seen opening the batting on Day 3.
