Hello, good evening! Welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket updates and blog post of the Desert T20 Challenge. This is match No. 5 of the tournament between Oman and Hong Kong. I am Paulami Chakraborty and I will bring to you all the live cricket updates and scores of the match. The match is scheduled to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Both Hong Kong and Oman have lost their previous matches in the tournament and will seek their first victory to open their account. Oman lost their series opener to the Netherlands while Hong Kong were handed a defeat by Scotland in their first match.
Hong Kong, in their last match, were disappointing in all departments. They gave away too many runs which helped their opponents to put to a total of 189, which created a lot of pressure on the batsmen who eventually fell apart. The top-order batting failed to win the battle of nerves and though the middle-order stepped up, it was too late and victory had already slipped away from their hands.
Oman, on the other hand, failed to put up a challenging target. A score of 146 was a par total against a team like the Netherlands in this competition. The bowlers, who performed well, had too little runs to protect and eventually it resulted in a defeat. Both teams, having played one match each in the tournament, now know their strength and will look to improve their performance.

Hong Kong: Kyle Christie, Aizaz Khan, Anshuman Rath, Babar Hayat (c), Christopher Carter (wk), Ehsan Khan, Ehsan Nawaz, Cameron McAulsan, Nadeem Ahmed, Nizakat Khan, Shahid Wasif, Tanveer Ahmed, Waqas Barkat, Waqas Khan
