Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day 4 of the Group C game of the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy between Hyderabad and Jammu & Kashmir, live from Hyderabad. Hyderabad, who started yesterday i.e. Day 3 at 113 for no loss were bowled out for 280 falling 180 runs short of J&K’s first innings score of 460. Hyderabad were then asked to bat again by mutual consent of both the captains and in their second innings they were 122/2 at stumps; thus they are still trailing by 58 runs. Hyderabad will look to clear this first innings deficit quickly today and then post a respectable total for their bowlers to defend in the final innings of the match. At this moment, J&K are favorites to win this match. Complete coverage of Ranji Trophy 2015-16
Live cricket scores Jammu & Kashmir 56/2 | Target 150 | Overs 17 | Batting: Ian Chauhan 26(42), Parvez Rasool 25(50): The match is drawn but J&K gets three points for taking a hefty first innings lead while Hyderabad had to contend with one point. At stumps on day four, Ian Chauhan and Parvez Rasool were batting on 26 and 25 respectively. They needed 94 more runs to win when the umpire called for end of day’s play. J&K have played well in this tournament while Hyderabad needs to do some introspection esp. when it comes to bowling. J&K captain Mithun Manhas led from the front and was the top scorer of the match with 150 even though he batted in the first innings only. J&K bowler Rohit Sharma was the highest wicket-taker with six wickets.
Live cricket scores Jammu & Kashmir 9/2 | Target 150 | Overs 3.2 | Batting: Ian Chauhan 5(5), Parvez Rasool 1(5): J&K have lost two early wickets in their second innings. Shubham Khajuria is caught by Ahmed Quadri off Anwar Ahmed Khan’s delivery and Imran Khan is unlucky to get run out for a duck. Parvez Rasool has come to the middle, he is batting with Ian Chauhan at the other end. J&K needs 141 runs to win. OUT! Shubham Khajuria c Ahmed Quadri b Anwar Ahmed Khan 3(8), OUT! Imran Haroon run out 0(2)
Live cricket scores Hyderabad 280 & 329 | Jammu & Kashmir 460 | Overs 113.1 | Batting: CV Milind 15(63): Hyderabad’s last two wickets fall for zero runs. Both are cleaned up by Umar Nazir. CV Milind remained the last man standing on 15. Thus, Hyderabad are bowled out for 329 in their second innings. J&K will now require 150 runs in their second innings to win the match. OUT! Live cricket scores Hyderabad 280 & 307/7 | Jammu & Kashmir 460 | Overs 102 | Batting: Sumanth Kolla 67(115), CV Milind 6(34): Hyderabad batsmen are batting slowly, they have added just 28 runs in the last 12 overs i.e. on 72 balls. However, the partnership of Sumanth Kolla and CV Milind is growing. Hyderabad now lead by 127 runs.
Live cricket scores Hyderabad 280 & 279/7 | Jammu & Kashmir 460 | Overs 90.1 | Batting: Sumanth Kolla 43(69), CV Milind 2(9): B Anirudh gets out leg-before-wicket on the bowling of Bandeep Singh, he made 57. Good thing for Hyderabad is that Sumanth Kolla is still batting. CV Milind is the new batsman at the crease. Hyderabad now lead by 99 runs. Let’s see if J&K win or the match ends in a draw. In a rare case if Hyderabad are able to inflict a batting collapse in the fourth innings they may win the game but this is highly unlikely. OUT! B Anirudh lbw Bandeep Singh 57(122), OUT! Mehdi Hasan c Asif Khan b Ram Dayal 7(28)
Live cricket scores Hyderabad 280 & 242/5 | Jammu & Kashmir 460 | Overs 78.1 | Batting: B Anirudh 57(121), Sumanth Kolla 19(35): B Anirudh has crossed his half century. He has struck five boundaries in his 57 run knock so far. Sumanth Kolla is giving him good support. Their partnership is now worth 36 runs. Mehdi Hasan is next in the batting order if a wicket falls. Hyderabad now lead by 62 runs.
Live cricket scores Hyderabad 280 & 220/5 | Jammu & Kashmir 460 | Overs 72 | Batting: B Anirudh 49(105), Sumanth Kolla 5(14): GH Vihari gets out after a well played 65 off 146 balls. He was caught by Zohoor Soifi off the bowling of Ram Dayal. Ahmed Quadri, who came next did not trouble the scorers and was out for 14. Ram is bowling pretty well, he has picked four of the five Hyderabad wickets. B Anirudh is batting along with Sumanth Kolla right now. Anirudh is just a run short of his fifty. Sumanth Kolla is still taking his time to get his eye in. Hyderabad are now leading by 40 runs. OUT! GH Vihari c Zahoor Sofi b Ram Dayal 65(146), OUT! Ahmed Quadri c Waseem Raza (Sub) b Ram Dayal 14(21)
Live cricket scores Hyderabad 280 & 154/3 | Jammu & Kashmir 460 | Overs 50.2 | Batting: GH Vihari 53(114), B Anirudh 20(43): Hyderabad have added 32 runs today to their overnight score of 122 but have also lost the key wicket of Danny Derek Prince. He was caught by Parvez Rasool off the bowling of Ram Dayal. He made 62 with the help of nine boundaries. Hyderabad are still trailing by 26 runs. OUT! Danny Derek Prince c Parvez Rasool b Ram Dayal 62(118)
This is the final day of the match, hence a draw cannot be ruled out either. Hyderabad’s middle-order batsmen, lower-order and the tail will have to bat well so that Hyderabad saves this match. A lot will depend on GH Vihari and Danny Derek Prince who were batting pretty well and were unbeaten on 46 and 56 respectively at stumps yesterday. Hyderabad would certainly like that one of these batsmen goes on to score a big century.
