The home team are definitely in a precarious position after first day’s play. The spirited Jharkhand bowlers have run through their batting and skittled them out for 145 runs. Jharkhand went to stumps at 31 for one still trailing by 114 runs but with nine wickets in hand. Jharkhand’s bowlers achieved collective success with Shahbaz Nadeem, Jaskaran Singh and Kaushal Singh taking three wickets apiece. There was one run out in the Hyderabad innings. The top-scorer for Hyderabad was Bavanaka Sandeep with 39 runs. The pitch was difficult to bat on but the Hyderabad batsmen should have shown more application. It is now prudent for them to make early inroads on Day Two to give themselves a chance of remaining in the match. Even a single big partnership for Jharkhand could mean a lost match for the home side. Jharkhand will be aware that it is a tough surface to bat on and will look to dig in deep and slowly pile the runs. Chama Milind was the sole wicket-taker for Hyderabad on the first day dismissing Sumit Kumar for 13. At stumps Shiv Gautam and Anand Singh were batting at 14 and four respectively. They’ll want to take Jharkhand to a good start on Day Two.
