Live Cricket Score: Afghanistan 40/4 | Overs 13
Batsmen: Samiullah Shenwari 0(3), Rahmat Shah 5(12)
Plenty of wickets have fallen today even though very little overs of play have occurred due to major chunk of the afternoon thwarted by rain. But a result may still be likely here. With Afghanistan tottering at 40 for four. Scotland can be confident of securing a first innings lead.
Live Cricket Score: UAE 156/3| Overs 64
Batsmen: Swapnil Patil 57(97), Saqib Ali 47(150)
Saqib Ali and Swapnil Patil have put on a solid partnership to raise UAE’s hopes of saving the match. The partnership has now swelled to 93 runs and they’re batting with little trouble at the moment. Ireland still are most likely to win this game but they’ll want to break this partnership soon.
Live Cricket Score: Scotland 227/8 | Overs 67
Batsmen: Alasdair Evans 0(1), Matthew Cross 27(46)
Unfortunately, rain continues to pour down here. A ball is yet to be bowled on Day 3 of the match and lunch has already been taken.
Live Cricket Score: UAE 48/2| Overs 22
Batsmen: Khurram Khan 0(3), Saqib Ali 6(21)
UAE are struggling for certain. Ireland have taken the first step right towards becoming a Test team by securing a first innings lead but they’ll not be content with that. They can already smell victory and with more than one and a half day to go, they certainly must go for the kill.
Hello and welcome to CricketCountry‘s live coverage of the Day 3 of ICC Intercontinental Cup 2015-17. The Intercontinental cup’s winner is set to become the 11th ever country to play a Test match and hence the series is of paramount importance to the side. Ireland are battling it out with United Arab Emirates (UAE), while Scotland are engaged with Afghanistan in a rainy match. Unfortunately, so far the match between Scotland and Afghanistan has witnessed just 67 overs of play, where there should have ideally been 180 overs. The Ireland and UAE game at Malahide, Dublin was also rain affected, but not as badly. In fact there has been plenty of play and chances of the game ending in a result are high.
Ireland are well on top after scoring 492 runs in their first innings. They than came back to bowl beautifully and the trio of John Mooney, George Dockrell and Craig Young were among the wickets. UAE will need a miracle they are to win the game, saving the game is the more viable option for them.
