Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Canada vs Fiji, 15th place playoff of the ICC Under- 19 World Cup Cox’s Bazar. This is a crucial match for both the teams as neither of them will want to finish rock bottom in the tournament. The fact that these two teams are playing in this fixture shows that neither team has managed to have any success in the tournament. But on of their losing streak will end in this match. Sadly for the losing team, they will return home without a single win in the tournament. Regardless of the result, both teams will look to comeback stronger in the next edition. Canada U19 v Fiji U19: Live Cricket Score, Canada U19 84/2 in 20 overs | BATTING Akash Gill 38 (65), Arslan Khan 9 (3): Canada lost just two wickets from that innings and what a wonderful end to their tournament. Fiji as always completed their innings within 100 runs and an easy achievable target for Canada. They finish their innings within 20 overs and Akash Gill stood right from the beginning. Toss: Canada won the toss and elected to field.
Canada started the tournament with a 196-run loss against the eventual semi-finalists Sri Lanka. Despite an improved show with the bat, they still finished second best against Pakistan. IN a low-scoring encounter against Afghanistan, Canada gave a tough fight, but their opponents managed to sneak a four-wicket win. Canada were then handed a resounding defeat by Zimbabwe in the ninth place Quarter-Final and then followed it up with six-wicket loss in the semi-final of the 13th place play-off.
Fiji were bowled out for just 72 in their first match, handing England a massive 299-run win. They were again bundled out for double digit score in their next match against Zimbabwe and it continued against the West Indies as well. They went past the 100-run mark for the first time in the tournament against Afghanistan in the ninth place Quarter-Final, but lost the match by 226 runs. Their highest team score of 149 came in the 13th place play-off, Semi-Final against Scotland, where they fell short by 76 runs, chasing 226. They will hope that they can put on a good show against Canada.
