Kevin O’Brien has taken 3 for 7 to scythe through the middle order of Nepal, who, after a shaky start, collapsed to make it seem a one-sided contest at Belfast. Sharad Vesawkar was caught by Gary Wilson off O’Brien’s bowling, and No. 8 Binod Bhandari was bowled. Rajesh Pulami, the No. 7, was out lbw off the last ball of the 13th over.

Four matches will be held today: Hong Kong take on Papua New Guinea at Bready, Namibia take on USA at Stormont, both at 10:00 local time, Ireland versus Nepal, also Stormont, and last night’s winners popular winners Afghanistan versus a yet unbeaten Kenya, at Stirling, at 1415 local time.

Mohammad Shahzad starred in a 37-run win against Scotland, to take them to three wins out of three so far. However, his blitz of 76 wasn’t the highest individual score of Sunday’s matches, as Zeeshan Maqsood scored a 41-ball 86 to lead Oman to their first ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier win, in a rain-shortened match against Canada. Netherlands, hosts Ireland, and Papua New Guinea (PNG) also won their respective games. Jersey failed to gather big hits in their chase against PNG, to register their first loss in two games in this edition of the tournament. Jersey’s commanding victory in their first even ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier game on Saturday, created history as they had qualified for this tournament for the first time.
