Good Afternoon/Morning, नमस्कार, Goeie more! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog session of the fifth One-Day International (ODI) between visitors India A and hosts South Africa A at the Groenkloof Stadium in Pretoria on Thursday. I am Ayush Gupta, and I will be bringing to you the live updates from this tie. Both the sides have won a couple of games each as they have four points each. The hosts stay on the top with a greater run rate. A win today for any side will hardly matter as both the teams have virtually made it to the final, with this match being considered a mini-final. IND A topple AFG A by 113 runs in SA tri-nation series
Earlier, India A beat Afghanistan A by 113 runs in match 4 of the Tri-Nation series in South Africa. Riding on the back of a good platform laid by their batsmen, Indian bowlers stepped up to hand over an easy victory for Karun Nair’s men. By virtue of this victory, India gain 4 points from 3 games and will lock horns with South Africa for their last group stage encounter. India’s top performers were Rishabh Pant and Manish Pandey, whereas Mohammad Siraj, Vijay Shankar and Siddharth Kaul dented Afghanistan’s progress in pursuit of 323. Hendricks scores 173, Shamsi picks up 4-for as clinical SA A thrash AFG A by 164 runs
On the other hand, it was a clinical performance by South Africa A as they registered a comprehensive 164-run victory over Afghanistan A. After being put into bat, South Africa posted a massive total of 336 runs on the board, thanks to a splendid knock by Reeza Hendricks. The opener scored an unbeaten 173 and played a pivotal role in helping his team to pile up such a huge score. In reply, Afghanistan A suffered a collapse in the latter part of the innings as they lost 5 wickets for just 6 runs and were bowled out for 172.
