Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day 1 of the unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A. We, at CricketCountry, will be bringing to you live updates and interesting tweets throughout the Test series. After Manish Pandey took India A home with ODI series win, it is time for Karun Nair to bring his debut captaincy skills into the foray. He will look to leave behind his disappointing IPL season and begin this series with a hope to regain his spot in the India’s Test squad. India A comprises of young bowlers that includes IPL stars Aniket Choudhary and Mohammad Siraj. Shahbaz Nadeem and Jayant Yadav will also be seen in whites.
Jayant will be seen in whites after hi stint for India during the England and Australia series. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant who kept the wickets in the ODI series will see a change too. Ishan Kishan will now keep the wickets for the 4-day match. Abhinav Mukund, Shreyas Iyer, Ankit Bawne and likes will handle the task with the bat. It is also testing time for South Africa A’s captain Aiden Markram. The South Africa A is bolstered with Duanne Olivier and Andile Phehlukwayo. Stephen Cook will also handle the task with the bat as the opener. The one newcomer at this level is the Multiply Titans legspinner, Shaun von Berg. The match will take place at Benoni who is hosting the first of the two unofficial Tests. David Miller and Dane Piedt will be the mainstay batters in the middle.
