An inspired performance led by Yuvraj Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin helped India bundle out Pakistan for 128 runs in their Super Eights clash of the World T20 at Colombo on Sunday.

Earlier, winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first. The Indian bowlers were erratic to start with, spraying the ball in the initial overs with Zaheer Khan giving away 13 runs in the first over which involved 8 extras.

Irfan Pathan struck a crucial blow as he trapped Imran Nazir leg before wicket for 8 runs.

Laxmipathy Balaji who was brought in the match provided India a crucial breakthrough as he removed the dangerous Shahid Afridi (14), who played few ominous strokes.

Yuvraj Singh was brought in to bowl in the seventh over was quick to give India its third wicket in form of the opener Nasir Jamshed for just four runs.

The all-rounder gave India a big breakthrough as he removed Kamran Akmal in his next over for five runs.

Virat Kohli, brought in to bowl as a fill-in bowler, took the wicket of Mohammad Hafeez, (15) leaving Pakistan reeling at the half-way mark.

Following Hafeez’s departure, Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal stitched a partnership to improve Pakistan’s total.

The duo added 47 runs for the sixth wicket as Pakistan crossed 100 runs in the 15th over. However, Ravichandran Ashwin soon dismissed Malik further adding to Pakistan’s woes.

Ashwin also succeeded in getting Umar’s wicket as the batsman tried to heave a big shot off the spinner, giving a catch to Suresh Raina. He scored 21 runs.

Yuvraj was soon back in action as he effect a brilliant run out, sending Yasir Arafat back to pavilion for eight runs.

The Indian team looked completely out of sorts against Australia and they now have to quickly address their woes in all departments of the game when they take on an upbeat Pakistan, who had beaten South Africa in a thriller, if they want to remain afloat in the tournament.

Brief Scores: Pakistan 128 all-out in 19.4 overs (Shoaib Malik 28, Umar Akmal 21; Ravichandran Ashwin 2 for 16, Yuvraj Singh 2 for 16) vs India
