Good Morning, शुभ प्रभात, සුභ උදෑසනක්! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the Gorup A match between India U19 and Sri Lanka U19 of the ongoing ACC U19 Asia Cup 2016, at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Moratuwa on Sunday. I am Rohan Sawant, and I will be bringing to you the live updates from this tie. India are certainly in the driver’s seat, as they sit comfortably in the top of the group table, with twin wins from the two games they have played so far, while they would also be aiming for another win, in this final tie against Sri Lanka, and cement their place at the top.
India currently have eight points in their bag along with a run rate of 3.28, while Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are placed second in the table, also with a couple of wins from the two games they have played so far, as they too have the same eight points, while they are pretty much lagging behind in the net run rate, as they have a run rate of 1.62. However, they can improve it, and go above India to finish as the league toppers, if they just come up with a winning performance in this tie.
India earlier beat minnows Malaysia in the opening tie convincingly by 235 runs, while the second game saw them beat minnows Nepal by six wickets. As for Sri Lanka, they won their opening tie against Nepal by just a run, in a closely fought tie, while they second game saw them beat Malaysia convincingly by eight wickets, as this game too is expected to be a thriller.
